Job Entry Plan

First Day:
Goal:
I would walk every area of Central Office and meet all the staff where I will come to work daily; individual meetings with cabinet members.
Objective:
The purpose of walking the building would be the same as a campus principal; it would be to begin to get to know staff and to build relationships and trust. One cannot do that sitting behind a desk.
Activities:
Actively meet and greet the stakeholders at Central Office. While having conversations, listen for any details stakeholders may give in expectations or concerns they have.

First Week:
Goal:
I would meet with cabinet and principals to begin to build relationships and discuss areas of concern set forth by previous year data
Objective:
The purpose would be to review district data and to allow input from administrators on areas of concern and solutions on what they feel should be next steps.
Activities:
Complete a team building activity and a survey on culture and climate of the district. Free Response on what they feel next steps should be for the district.

First Month:
Goal:
I would like to meet monthly with the Board of Trustees and visit as many schools as possible to take a temperature on what is happening in the district.
Objective:
The Board would have an opportunity to share expectations and goals of the district and my role. The campus visits would allow me to see if what is in the district improvement plan is being carried out in the classroom.
Activities:
Talk to teachers and students while visiting schools. Gather hard and soft data that will help evaluate where we are as a district.

First Year Plan:
Goal:
My first year, I would like to get to know and to build trust along with solid relationships with the stakeholders of the district. Begin assessing curriculum alignment.
Objective:
I want to know the people that I am serving and I want them to know me so that they understand who I am and will support my decisions as a Superintendent. Gather data to evaluate where we are as a district, where our areas of weakness are and how we will be addressing them.
